Imagining a Columbus Blue Jackets Thanksgiving dinner, who is the main course?

The bread is never the star of the plate, but you always look forward to it.

Jake Christiansen has been a little bit of an under the radar surprise for the Blue Jackets early this season. He spent quite a bit of time on the second pairing, alongside Damon Severson; and I would even argue that Severson looked at his very best with Jake as his partner. He's not flashy often, aside from the odd big hit. But his skating and puck moving have been steady and reliable. What more can we ask for from an often overlooked part of the meal?

Everyone looks forward to pie, and pumpkin is king.

Let's be honest for a second here. No matter how many plates of dinner you put away, there is always room for pie. You can never turn it down, even if you're stuffed beyond what you think is capacity. Pumpkin is usually the favorite, with its smooth, sweet flavor and an undertone of spices, you can rarely go wrong. Especially if you have the whipped cream on top.

Kent Johnson brings everyone back to the table for more. This season, he's missed some time with injury, but when he's been on the ice, he has been must see on nearly every shift. This is the thing we've all been looking forward to since the team drafted him three years ago. It's finally time for dessert in Columbus.

Not a pumpkin pie fan? We've got you covered with a classic alternative.

If slick hands and saucer passes aren't your preferred style, maybe pumpkin pie isn't for you. The good news here is, your parents are aware, and with many mouths to feed, they knew they needed to get a nice Dutch apple pie on the table as well.

Fast skating and hard shooting, Yegor Chinakhov gives us an alternative type of high flying offense. If Kent Johnson is the team's pumpkin king, Chinakhov is the perfect alternative dessert at our table. A true classic, he's one of the fastest skating, hardest shooting wingers in the entire NHL. You can't go wrong here either.

We ran out of dishes before we could get down the entire roster this season. Hopefully we've covered all of your favorites, whether we're talking Thanksgiving fixins, or Blue Jacket players. We hope you enjoy the holiday, whatever your tradition involves!
