Today we continue our preview of the Columbus Blue Jackets lineup with a look at forward Matt Calvert.
The Columbus Blue Jackets have a gritty forward in Matt Calvert that adds a true punch to the lineup. Calvert is a tough player that plays a good defensive game while still being able to add a few goals on the other end with 10 last season.
Calvert will likely slot in on the fourth line with Lukas Sedlak manning the middle and one of Markus Hannikainen, Sonny Milano or Vitaly Abramov on the other wing. Hannakainen plays a tougher style like Calvert while the other two would add more skill to the fourth line.
Columbus has more depth than they have ever had before, so players like Calvert are becoming more and more expendable. Calvert could be scratched a few times throughout the season with players in Cleveland being called up.
