Columbus Blue Jackets Greatest Players: #3 – David Vyborny
The Columbus Blue Jackets will be entering their 17th season as a NHL franchise this year, so we thought it’s about time we celebrate the 17 greatest Blue Jackets. This list won’t be filled with the best players per say, but rather the most impactful, durable, and lovable Jackets in our minds.

#3 – David Vyborny
Coming in at No. 3 is David Vyborny, the pride of the Czech Republic.
Vyborny was an ironman of sorts for the Columbus Blue Jackets during the first seven years in the franchise’s history. He played in 543 games in that time, averaging 78 games played per season. In addition, he is still in the top three in games played in CBJ history, a spot that he can realistically keep for another three or four years most likely.
On top of his durability, Vyborny was an offensive playmaker. That is most evident by his place in the Blue Jackets’ record books. He sits at fourth in goals, second in assists, second in points, third in power play goals, second in shorthanded goals, third in game-winning goals, third in offensive point shares, and sixth in total point shares.
Unfortunately, Vyborny never got to play in the playoffs as he left the team to return to Prague following the 2007-2008 season. For that reason, many fans may not remember him anymore, but take our word for it, he was pretty darn good.
