It can be argued that Christian Ehrhoff is the best available option for the Blue Jackets. There have been numerous reports discussing the interest Columbus has in acquiring the services 33-year-old defenseman but they are hesitant about paying him too much. Ehrhoff made $4 million last season with the Penguins but only managed to play 49 games and put up 14 points. For the right price, Ehrhoff could improve the Blue Jackets’ defense if he managed to stay healthy. Personally, I feel that there is to much risk that comes with signing a guy like Christian Ehrhoff. Columbus does not want to be caught throwing too much money at a player they are uncertain can last the entire season.
