Tonight's Blue Jackets game has been postponed due to the continuance of a level 3 snow emergency in Central Ohio.

The Blue Jackets were set to host the Los Angeles Kings tonight at 7:00, but the teams and the NHL decided that it would be best to not have 18,000 people traveling to downtown Columbus for this game.

It's a smart move, as the city was blanketed with nearly a foot of snow over the weekend.

The game has been rescheduled for Monday, March 9th, with a time yet to be determined. The Kings will be starting yet another East Coast road trip that week (they play in Boston on March 10th), while the Blue Jackets will be traveling to Tampa Bay immediately after that game for a newly scheduled back-to-back start of their own.

The Jackets are currently scheduled to play again on Wednesday night, at home against the Philadelphia Flyers. We will monitor the situation to see if anything changes between now and then.

The forecast in Columbus remains cold through then, with a slight chance of snow showers tomorrow. The hope is that the city's snow removal crews can have the streets ready in time for that one, but it will take a lot of work.

The Blue Jackets sit at 24-20-7 (55 points), currently 14th in the Eastern Conference. They have won two games in a row, and will now look to continue that streak against a Metropolitan Division foe.

With Denton Mateychuk set to return, we will also be curious to see if the team can get back even more reinforcements ahead of Wednesday. Miles Wood and Dante Fabbro both skated with the team this morning, and it appears they could both return soon as well.

In the meantime, we hope everyone in the 5th Line stays safe!
