Jet Greaves
I won't go quite as in-depth here, because Jet Greaves' success this year was pretty clear. We've talked about how good he was (and is) quite a bit, so I'll instead point out how a repeat season would be huge for this team.
The Blue Jackets finished the 2025-26 season scoring 3.00 goals per game, and allowing 3.06 goals against per game. While many (including myself) are hoping for the offense to take a strong, positive step, I think keeping the puck out of their own net is the key to success for this team.
Jet will be able to start the season as the undisputed starter for this team, which will give the team complete stability in the crease. He had a 2.60 goals against average last year, so simply getting his starts should get things trending in the right direction.
Especially if the defense as a whole can continue to build on a strong season and have more consistency in their own zone, Jet could be on his way to another top-ten season.
The main thing to watch for this team defensively will be the penalty kill. While bringing veteran blueliner Erik Gudbranson back will help, I'm not sure my confidence level is particularly high with any of the other defenders in that situation, so this will be where Jet may really need to put the team on his back.
