Dmitri Voronkov
Despite turning 26 earlier this month, I still think that Dmitri Voronkov can provide a lot of value to this team. It might be hard for him to find a spot in the lineup above the fourth line, and he may have to work his way up from there.
Despite only playing in 63 games partly due to some time being spent as a healthy scratch, he still put up 32 points with 17 goals.
Especially after scoring 23 goals and 47 points the year before, it's clear that Voronkov can help this team score goals. Combine that with his huge frame and physicality and you have a force to be reckoned with on the wing.
He can admittedly be a bit slow and sloppy at times, which doesn't do him any favors, but I think that he has enough puck skills to make up for it. Especially on the power play when he can set up in front of the net, he can be lethal.
While the objective at first will just be to bounce back and earn the trust of Rick Bowness, I think that Voronkov can have a career season if he has a consistent role in the lineup. If he does end up back on the power play, I wouldn't say a 55-point season is out of the question.
All four of these players are forwards, and I think that points to the importance of that position group this season. Jet is a solidified star goalie, and the top two defensive pairs should be pretty much a lock, so offensive progress will likely be the key to success this season.
