Columbus Blue Jackets: Paul Bittner Having Rebound Season in Cleveland
Paul Bittner has been a top Columbus Blue Jackets prospect for years and it seems as if he’s almost ready to make the jump to the NHL.
Paul Bittner has been struggling to find his way to the Columbus Blue Jackets roster, he seemed like a lock for the NHL within a few years with his WHL performance. Since then he’s been stuck seemingly in limbo with the Cleveland Monsters.
He’s only put up a total of 32 points in 100 AHL games, however as of late he’s been on a roll. Oliver Bjorkstrand‘s former linemate in the WHL has put up 11 points in 15 games to start the season.

Having Paul Bittner back to his former self could be huge for the Blue Jackets, he plays a fairly similar game to Josh Anderson. They both are big, hard hitting, power forwards who can contribute on the scoreboard.
Bittner’s had one of the biggest roller coaster development stories in recent history for the Blue Jackets.
He was a top scorer in the WHL, got to the AHL and played some of the worst hockey of his career for two seasons. Now however, he’s back and the mustachioed man is going to make an impact.
With Bittner back on his development expectation, he should be in the NHL in one or two years at this rate.
Reuniting Bittner with Bjorkstrand could be huge for both of them, it’s likely they’ll at least get the chance to play with each other early on.
Everyone is rooting for Paul Bittner, he’s had a rough start to his professional career and becoming an NHL regular could be a story book ending. It’s unlikely he’ll ever be a superstar at the NHL level, however he could certainly become a second or third line staple for the Blue Jackets.
