The Columbus Blue Jackets continue to rely on scoring coming from every part of the lineup in a 7-3 win over the Panthers.

The Columbus Blue Jackets extend their point streak to six games after last night’s dominate third period led to a 7-3 win over the Florida Panthers. Through this entire run, the Jackets have relied on scoring coming from every line and every pair and last night was no different.

Without their best player, the Columbus Blue Jackets leaned on goals from seven different players to propel them past the red hot Panthers. Artemi Panarin was out sick on Thursday but the Jackets offense didn’t skip a beat.

The scoring started on a shorthanded opportunity early in the second period from the Jackets leader in goals, Cam Atkinson. That early goal cut the Panthers lead in half to 2-1 just 28 seconds into the period. The Jackets would add two more goals in the next six minutes to take a 3-2 lead with goals from Brandon Dubinsky and Pierre-Luc Dubois. The Panthers would add a power play goal late in the third to tie it up.

But the Jackets poured it on in the third period tacking on three goals and an empty netter to cap the dominate 7-3 win. Goals came from Markus Hannakainen, Anthony Duclair, Josh Anderson and the empty netter from Boone Jenner.

14 different Columbus Blue Jackets players had at least one point including Zac Dalpe, who made his first NHL start this season after tearing up the AHL in Cleveland.

Joonas Korpisalo had a solid night in net in place of Sergei Bobrovsky who was also out sick. Korpi stopped 36 of 39 shots and looked incredible in stretches during the second period. He stopped four consecutive high danger shots with acrobatic save after save that kept the Jackets in the game.

The Jackets will need their balanced scoring attack to continue on Saturday as they face the best defensive team in the eastern conference, the Carolina Hurricanes. The Jackets should have Panarin and Bob back but if not, they know they can rely on all four lines to provide the goals they need to extend their point streak to seven games.
