Columbus Blue Jackets Enter a Big Separation Week
The Columbus Blue Jackets play three games this week and have an opportunity to put some space between them and the rest of the Metropolitan Division.
The first full week in December off the Columbus Blue Jackets an opportunity to put some space between them and the rest of the Metro. It is tough to create any space with the amount of three point games in the league but the schedule offers them a chance this week.
The Jackets have been in the top three of the division for all of the season thus far. This has been a surprise to no one. What has been a surprise is the company they are keeping in the top three. The New Jersey Devils has shocked the league with their performance thus far and have managed to hang around for two plus months.
This week affords the Columbus Blue Jackets two opportunities to play those pesky Devils though. Tonight the Columbus Blue Jackets will host the Devils and then the squad from New Jersey will return the favor and host on Friday.

Two regulation wins against them will mean a lot for the Jackets. A four point gain on a team in your division is massive. It will go even further considering the Devils have a game in hand on the CBJ.
The Devils then turn around after playing the Jackets twice and face a tough matchup in NYC against the Rangers.
As the Jackets look to win their first division title in franchise history, this week affords them a huge opportunity. Separation from the New Jersey Devils could happen this week.
Plus a Must Win
Along with these two big games against the Devils, the Jackets have a must win game on Saturday. The worst team in the league will come to Nationwide and finish up the easiest of all of the Jackets back-to-backs this year.
The Arizona Coyotes will come to town following the CBJ game in Newark, New Jersey. Not only is this an opportunity to pick up two easy points, it is a chance to cross off another back-to-back with more than two points gained.
A trip from New Jersey to Columbus and then turning around to play the next night is the easiest turn around the Jackets face all year. Add in the easiest opponent they will face and the union blue should be seeing four points in their future.

A six point week is certainly possible this week and should be the goal for the Columbus Blue Jackets. This week is this team’s biggest separation opportunity to date.
