The Columbus Blue Jackets are on a three game loosing streak. Sure they have one point but thats not enough.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have hit the first rough stretch of the season. The last three games have been tough losses. In the incredibly challenging Metropolitan Division, a four game losing streak is too much.

If the Jacket lose tonight against the Carolina Hurricanes it will be time to hit the panic button. Two losses to Metro opponents, three in the Eastern Conference is a lot of ground to give up. Sure, it’s only November and the Jackets won’t secure a spot this fall, but they can lose a spot.

Carolina right now is sitting at the bottom of the Metropolitan Division but they can turn it around and be a division contender. A win against them is critical towards staying afloat in the standings.

This game is even more important as they have been in Central Ohio for four days in a row. They played a home game on Tuesday (loss), off day on Wednesday, and practiced on Thursday. They had plenty of time to rest, recover and get their minds in the right place. These stretches are rare and must be taken advantage of.

But if they lose…

If the Columbus Blue Jackets lose we have a serious problem. One point in four games and four losses against Eastern Conference opponents means a ton of points their playoff competitors gain.

It also doesn’t set the CBJ up for their first trip to Little Ceasars Arena in Detroit. The Red Wings aren’t great but can certainly beat the Jackets. Another back-to-back starting out with a loss could kill any momentum the Jackets have from the off days at home they have been enjoying.

Big changes will be needed if the Jackets don’t get points in these upcoming games. Time to win Jackets. There is too much talent on this team not to get back to racking up points.
