We’re another week through the Columbus Blue Jackets’ season, which means that we’re another week through the fantasy hockey league season. In the Union and Blue league, we had an upset while some CBJ players disappointed in fantasy points.

The Columbus Blue Jackets had their first rough week of the 2017-18 season, going 1-2-0 while facing some stiff competition. One of those losses involved a shutout of the CBJ, which is never good for fantasy owners that have Blue Jackets players. Let’s dive into the best and worst of the CBJ in fantasy this week.

RELATED STORY: Last Week’s Fantasy Results

Best & Worst

Sergei Bobrovsky came back to the top of the list as he had 19 fantasy points to take the #1 position on the team. His three wins automatically earned him 15 points, so it was pretty easy for him to get back to the top.

Josh Anderson was the best Columbus Blue Jackets skater this week. His overtime game-winner against Winnipeg was one of two goals for the young Canadian over the past seven days. He also had an assist to earn 17.5 fantasy points. Nick Foligno and Matt Calvert tied for second as they both had 15.5 points to finish out the fantasy week.

The worst player was Pierre-Luc Dubois, who had just two fantasy points in four games. That’s pretty bad, and something that will be fixed, at least that’s what Will hopes since he owns him.

Union and Blue Matchups

Last week, Lansing picked up his third win of the season, keeping his undefeated record alive. He crushed Will’s roster as Nikita Kucherov didn’t have any sort of week he had been since the beginning of the season.

Alexander Radulov ended up being the best player of the matchup as he earned 19.7 fantasy points. Lansing also had several players able to earn double-digit point totals, an early-season trend for LM.

Kucherov only had 16.5 fantasy points, which was second-best on the team. He was behind Jordan Eberle, who had one more point. With Jaromir Jagr and Justin Schultz both on IR, lineup possibilities were a little more limited for Will.

I faced Tony last week. With Phil Kessel leading the way, I had a very easy time. Kessel was the only 20+ fantasy points in the matchup, so he was by far the best.

I also had Blake Wheeler, Roman Josi and many more earn over 15 fantasy points while Tony only had two players reach that mark, Jonathan Quick and Mike Hoffman.

This week is already underway. I have the bye week, but Lansing is taking on Tony in a game where Tony needs to bounce back while Lansing tries to stay undefeated. That means that Will and Mike are matched up together. Mike had a bye week last time out after losing the first three games, so he’s still winless this season.
