A day before Halloween, the Columbus Blue Jackets and Boston Bruins face off at Nationwide Arena in an Eastern Conference battle.

Entering the contest with a 4-3-2 record, the Boston Bruins are fifth-best in the Atlantic Division and 11th in the Eastern Conference. The Columbus Blue Jackets have been a bit better to open up the season, sitting in third in the Metro and fifth in the conference after a 7-4-0 start.

Both teams are coming into the game off of a loss in their last outing. The Blue Jackets were pretty much shut down by the Blues on Saturday, but the Bruins loss may have been worse as they lost a heart-breaker to the Kings on Saturday as Tyler Toffoli scored the game-winning goal with no time remaining in overtime.

Both teams will look to rebound and get back into the win column tonight.

Injury Report

Columbus Blue Jackets

The past week has not been kind to the Blue Jackets when it comes to injuries. After Boone Jenner, Jordan Schroeder and Sam Vigneault all returned to action (Schroeder and Vigneault in the AHL), the CBJ’s biggest scoring threat in Cam Atkinson and fourth-line center in Lukas Sedlak both went down.

Boston Bruins

The Bruins have been hit hard with injuries early in the season. Three of the five listed above will be out for several more weeks following this game, with Khudobin and Krejci being the only ones expected to be back anytime soon.
