Nationwide Arena is a great building to catch a hockey game, but Columbus Blue Jackets fans should venture out from the friendly confines onto the road.

Today, I am going to take a look at the five rinks and cities that I would like to visit outside of Nationwide Arena, the home of the Columbus Blue Jackets. I will also put a disclaimer out there. I have only watched professional hockey at Nationwide, so this list is a wish list of sorts for me.

There are a few different criteria that will be used making this list. The first is going to be the city itself. This will include night life and everything the city has to offer outside of hockey itself. This will give a few cities a jump right off the bat.

The next criteria are going to be the rink. For this, the history of the rink will be looked at, along with the features that are inside the arena. So newer rinks and historical rinks are going to take the cake in this section. Lastly, the importance of the game being played will be used to dissect the Columbus Blue Jackets schedule this season.
