The first stretch of away games comes fast and furious in October. The 15th of October, which is the 5th game of the season, the Blue Jackets start a three game road trip. I think I will call this the “Over The River And Through The Woods” road tip.

First opponent, the Detroit Red Wings. A familiar foe, no need to stress the importance of a road victory, especially seeing as it is the first stop.

The second destination, Montreal, the Canadians boasted the second best record in the Eastern Conference last season, and will look to prove that it wasn’t a fluke. Carey Price will lead the way, and if he has a strong season, nothing could stand in the way of the playoffs.

After Montreal, the team will head to the nations capital to take on Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals. The Caps are the type of team that you never know what you’re going to see. You could encounter a high flying offense, or a team struggling to stay afloat. This first road trip pits the Blue Jackets against three tough teams, at a very pivotal point in the season.

That concludes the  “Over The River And Through The Woods” road trip.

Road Trip Record Prediction: 1 Win, 1 Loss, 1 OT Win (no particular order)
