During the Blue Jackets third season, the blue jersey became their home jersey. The shoulder patches were updated, with Stinger being retired and replaced with a Civil War-themed logo. While the team’s name referenced the contributions of Ohio to the Civil War, the introduction of the Civil War cap patch was the first time this was referenced in the team’s logos.

While the new shoulder logo is an improvement over Stinger and provides a better reference to the team’s name, the jersey is still a bit bland when compared to the other CBJ jerseys. In addition, without Stinger, the Electric Green on the stick in the main crest seems out of place.
