Oscar Dansk is a name nobody in Columbus knows. Follow that link to get a little bit of his background. Or this link and finally, here is a quote from USA Today “Likely the most experienced goaltender in the draft, Dansk is a quick, butterfly-style goalie with fast reflexes and the ability to make difficult saves. Scouts are pleased with Dansk’s experience, since he attended Shattuck St. Mary’s Hockey School in Minnesota for two seasons before moving back to Sweden to join the Brynas program. Dansk makes quick lateral movements in the crease and gets in and out of the butterfly well. He is perhaps the strongest stickhandler in the goalie class, with the ability to retrieve pucks and jumpstart rushes with the stretch pass. He should continue improving his rebound control and discipline in the crease because he tends to drop to his pads too quickly. With further development, he might develop into the starting goaltender that the Blue Jackets crave. “
If you followed the links and read the quote, you have to be impressed with his credentials. But, he is only 18 years old. There is no real indication as to which side of the ocean he will play on next year, but of course it’s implied that he will be playing Canadian Junior Hockey, but evidently that has to be determined.
Again if you read the linked articles, you noted he has character. Evidently a required commonality in this year’s Blue Jacket picks.
