After a huge overtime win, the Columbus Blue Jackets look for their ninth straight win in New York against the Rangers.

Wow. Hopefully you have had enough time to recover from that great Columbus Blue Jackets win against the Bruins. Now it’s time to turn your attention to the New York Rangers who will host the Jackets tonight in the last CBJ back-to-back of the season.

The Rangers have been off since Saturday night when the lost in overtime to the Blues. Although they don’t have the playoffs to look forward to, pride is always on the line. Henrik Lundqvist is a proud goalie and one that hasn’t played in the teams last three games. Rookie goalie Alexandar Georgiev instead made the starts for the blue shirts.

Lundqvist will be rested and focused for this game. He also has a good history against the Columbus Blue Jackets boasting a 11-7-1 record in 20 career games.

Sergei Bobrovsky will start in net for the Blue Jackets after having the night off in Boston. Bob hasn’t had a great career against the Rangers. He is 7-10-2 in his starts against the blueshirts.

Jones Back in Lineup?

At the time of posting there is still no official word on Seth Jones returning to the lineup. If he does, Jack Johnson should be the one to go. Heck, even if Jones doesn’t return, Jack should be scratched for either Dean Kukan, Scott Harrington, or Taylor Chorney.

Jack was terrible last night and saw his ice time cut because of it. He made terrible plays in the offensive and defensive zones and those mistakes almost cost the Jackets the game.

I am still in favor of sitting Jones until Thursday and playing one of the aforementioned defenseman. Kukan if he is healthy should be option number one over Jack Johnson tonight.

Next: CBJ Should Sit Jones

Tonight is the final back end of two games for the Columbus Blue Jackets. Nine wins in a row and playoff implications are on the line tonight in New York City. Tune in a 7pm to see how it all unfolds in the Big Apple.
