Brock Boeser
It's been rumored for at least a year now that the Blue Jackets have been interested in Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser, even after he signed a 7-year, $7.25m AAV extension to stay in Vancouver last summer. Since then, however, the Canucks have absolutely collapsed and have already entered a rebuild phase. Boeser's name has come up on the trade market again as a result, and it wouldn't shock me if Columbus is interested once more.
Boeser is a middle-six winger with a very respectable shot and impact in the offensive end. He has shot less than 10% only once in his career, and has been a 20+ goal scorer for eight out of ten seasons in the National Hockey League. He might be the kind of scoring winger the Jackets would be hoping for. While he lacks consistency in the defensive end and won't be going on the penalty kill anytime soon, he scores efficiently and often on the man advantage.
He would likely join former teammate Conor Garland in the Columbus system somewhere in the Jackets' middle-six as a decent scoring option. His contract is a bit rich for what he brings, however, and he has a full No-Movement Clause, meaning he'd have to accept a trade to Columbus. For a guy that's spent his entire career in Vancouver, it's questionable if this would materialize.
