Cole Sillinger
Although he has impressed with his defense so far in his NHL career, I think that Cole Sillinger has more offensive potential than many people realize. After all, there's a reason why he was drafted 12th overall.
In four of his five seasons in Columbus, he has scored between 30 and 35 points, with his highest goal total being 16 in his very first year.
However, now that he has a polished game and has proven his value as a solid two-way center, I think he could get solidly into the 40-50 point range.
Last season, he was on the higher end of the middle of the pack in scoring chance creation metrics, and given his defensive focus, I think that points to a lot of potential.
Even if his offensive game doesn't take that big of a step, his defensive game should continue to become even stronger. Despite entering his sixth season, Sillinger is still just 23 years old and has plenty of time to develop his game as a whole.
While it might be a bold take, I really do think that Sillinger could become a solid middle-six center as soon as this season if he can improve his offense just a little bit and get some scoring help from his linemates.
The final player we're looking at is a bit older than these three, but has played good hockey despite not completely earning the trust of the coaching staff.
