Winning fixes everything. The Columbus Blue Jackets were heading into their Tuesday night game against the Detroit Red Wings with a five-game losing streak. One of which had rumors swirling that a head coaching change could be in the works but for now, all is well. That’s right ladies and gentlemen, the Blue Jackets went into that game and left victorious after an impressive showing.

Beating the Red Wings 4-1 in front of their home fans for the first time this season, this was all such a nice sight to see considering what is going on in the world with the current pandemic. The truth of the matter is, sports can help anyone get distracted for a brief amount of time and just focus on sitting back watching your favorite hockey team play.

The Blue Jackets stepped up and delivered as no doubt, fans in attendance helped give this team a much-needed boost towards getting that win and having something to at least smile about. It feels like forever since anything positive has been said about the Blue Jackets but last night fixed some of that outside noise. Not only did this end their five-game losing streak but also gave this team hope that it’s a good step in the right direction.

In the grand scheme of things, this big win over the Red Wings can help set the tone for the rest of the week, and well, just take things one day at a time. Yes, the Blue Jackets are in the lower part of the Central Division at this point in time but hopefully, this gives them the right momentum to keep at it.

Their next set of games will be against the Dallas Stars this week with their sights set on turning this one big win into a three-game winning streak. If everything falls into place, that’ll be the case before coming back home to Nationwide Arena for a two-game set against the Florida Panthers.

To be a devil’s advocate for a moment, the Blue Jackets should have what it takes to perhaps sweep the Stars considering how much they’ve been struggling so far this season. The real test will be against the Panthers who have so far this season, played pretty well in the majority of their games.

All eyes will be on the Blue Jackets to see what they do here on out but it sure was nice to see them playing in front of their home fans again who know they still have a shot to get back into the mix of things. There is still a lot of hockey left to be played and as always, anything can happen between now and the end of the regular season. Hopefully, the Blue Jackets turn things around thanks to playing in front of their fans again to make this season something worth mentioning.
