The Columbus Blue Jackets dealing with more injuries now as Brandon Dubinsky is sidelined.
Just what the doctor ordered for the Columbus Blue Jackets! More injuries to critical players!
The injury is a shot to gut. Literally and figuratively. Dubinsky has a strained oblique muscle and according to the team, he will miss four to six weeks. Duby has been placed on injured reserve.
Brandon Dubinsky was hurt in Sunday’s practice as he joins Seth Jones, Scott Harrington and Gabriel Carlsson as Jackets on the mend. Dubinsky missed a season ticket holder event he was scheduled to be at on Sunday as well.
There is never a good time for an injury to a vital player in your roster, but right now is terrible for Dubinsky and the Jackets.

Dubinsky came into training camp looking fantastic and was a driving force in the preseason and the first two games of the year. He was centering arguably the Jackets best line and his two points in two games are tied for best on the squad. Not to mention a dominating the face-off circle with a 68% win percentage.
Lukas Sedlak might draw in and get his first start at center. The Jackets could also call up Kevin Stenlund from Cleveland.
Stenlund had an impressive preseason, leading the team in scoring, and was the last player cut from the roster.
Sedlak or Stenlund might fill in on the fourth line in between Anthony Duclair and Sonny Milano with Riley Nash moving up to the third line.
The Jackets are back on the ice Monday for their second practice in as many days before they take on the Colorado Avalanche at home. More updates on Jones, Werenski, and Harrington will be coming late in the day.
Not a great time for an injury to a player on the up and up. The Jackets signing of Riley Nash is looking great now as the Jackets have a serviceable center who can play legit third line minutes.
The real pressure though is not on Sedlak, Stenlund or Nash. It’s on Alexander Wennberg to be a true top six center without Dubinsky in the lineup.
