The home opener is finally here! The Columbus Blue Jackets and Carolina Hurricanes from Nationwide Arena.

Hopefully you’re reading this in your Columbus Blue Jackets sweater, winding down your Friday at work, before you head down to the Arena District. The way life is made to be lived.

Puck drops at NWA just after 7pm tonight for the team’s first home game of the year as well as it’s first divisional matchup.

Following a 3-2 overtime win in Detroit the team flew back home. The Canes are facing a similar situation as they opened their season in Carolina last night. The Hurricanes fell in overtime 2-1 to the New York Islanders.

The forward lines will start out the same as last night. The second and fourth lines saw some shake up throughout the game last night and could see the same thing happen if Torts isn’t happy with their play.

Lines and pairs have not been confirmed yet but I would expect the defense to be shook up a bit. Gabriel Carlsson looked terrible last night and I think Adam Clendening deserves a chance to show what he can do. Clendening had a great preseason, and I’d like to see him get some third pair minutes.

Adam Clendening – Dean Kukan

Sergei will be in net tonight following Joonas filling in nicely as the starter in Detroit. Bob was saved for tonights home game against a divisional opponent that comes on a back-to-back.
