Columbus Blue Jackets Look to go Streaking against Colorado
The Columbus Blue Jackets take on the Colorado Avalanche in their second game of their season long home stand tonight.
Tonight the Columbus Blue Jackets look to win their third straight game for the first time in since late November. The Colorado Avalanche come into Nationwide Arena on a two game loosing streak but are fighting to stay in playoff contention in the west.
The Avs are tied with Los Angeles with 77 points. The Kings have a tiebreaker advantage over the Avs at the moment and thus have the final wildcard spot to themselves. But Colorado has played will since the trade of Matt Duchene and find themselves in an unlikely race for the playoffs.
A big question heading into tonights game is in net. Joonas Korpisalo will make the start again tonight as Sergei Bobrovsky continues to get healthy. Korpi played very well the team played even better in front of him. The confidence from the 4-1 win over Vegas should roll into tonights matchup but Korpi has shown inconsisentcy over his career.

If the Jackets can get another performance from Korpi that they did on Tuesday the Jackets should roll to their third straight win. Much like the Vegas game, getting Korpi a 1-0 lead early will be vital. The Jackets did that in just 16 seconds last game.
The Av’s will start either Jonathan Bernier, who shut out the Jackets in January, or Semyon Varlamov, who is coming off a loss in Chicago. Bernier was made to look like a Vezina winner in January as the Columbus Blue Jackets played one of their worst games all season losing 2-0 in Colorado.
The other teams in the wild card race are in action tonight as well so keeping pace or gaining ground on those teams will be vital tonight for the Jackets. Keep an eye on Florida who host Montreal and have games in hand agains the Jackets. Also watch the Devils who start eight straight games against playoff teams tonight facing Winnipeg in New Jersey.
