The Columbus Blue Jackets will try to get back on the winning sides of things tonight as they face off against Metropolitan bottom-feeder, the Carolina Hurricanes.

For the third time in the 2017-18 season, the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Carolina Hurricanes collide. The teams split the first two games with the CBJ taking the opening game in the season series in overtime and Carolina bouncing back with a 3-1 victory in the last meeting.

The last time the Blue Jackets took the ice, the team failed to grab their seventh win in a row. They lost to the Montreal Canadiens by two goals in a game where the CBJ just didn’t look like one of the supposed best teams in the NHL.

Although many had high hopes for the Hurricanes at the beginning of the season, they have massively under-performed thus far in the new campaign. They sit in second-to-last in the Metro with 24 points despite being 6-3-1 in their last 10 games.

This matchup should be a win for the Blue Jackets, but with how the team plays sometimes, who knows how this one will turn out? It could be a five-goal victory or it could be a three-goal loss. Everyone needs to step up–with even more pressure on the offense to perform–if they want to come out with a W and claim the top spot in the Metro again.
