The Columbus Blue Jackets and New York Rangers meet tonight in a Metropolitan Division showdown.
The Columbus Blue Jackets finish up a three game road trip at the most famous arena in sports tonight. The New York Rangers will play host in this Metropolitan Division matchup.
After a terrible star, the Rangers come into tonight riding a three game winning streak. Another W would put the Rangers at .500 through their first 16 games of the year.
Alot of the turnaround can be attributed to J.T. Miller who is on fire right now. The Ohioan has 11 points in 10 games including the game winner against Tampa Bay last Thursday. In his last outing against Florida, Miller racked up three assist in the Rangers 5-4 win.

Injury Report
Columbus Blue Jackets
- Cam Atkinson – Hip/Illness (IR)

- Lukas Sedlak – Ankle (IR)
Gabriel Carlsson has been moved to day-to-day is going to be a game time decision. Cam has been retroactivly placed on the IR to October 25th, making space for Carlsson.
Matt Calvert was sent home following the loss in Tampa Bay. He will be out three to four weeks. More on this to come.
New York Rangers
- None
Must be nice New York. The Rangers are having a quiet season on the injury front.
Projected CBJ Lines
Panarin – Foligno – Anderson
Jenner – Dubinsky – Motte
– Wennberg – Bjorkstrand
Milano – Dubois – Hannikainen
Werenski – Jones
Johnson – Savard
Murray – Nutivaara
Bobrovsky
Korpisalo
You’ll see a gap where Matt Calvert has been playing on the third line. This is because I expect the Jackets to go with 11 forwards and seven defenseman with the return of Gabriel Carlsson. I see a scenario where wingers are rotated in on the third line much like Torts did earlier this year at center.
If not I expect Dubois to fill in on the third line and Zac Dalpe to center the fourth line.
Projected NYR Lines
Kreider – Zibanejad – Buchnevich
Nash – Hayes –Zuccarello
Vesey – Carey – Miller
Grabner – Nieves – Fast
Stall – McDonagh
Skjei – Shattnekirk
Holden – Smith

The Columbus Blue Jackets will look to wrap up the three game road trip with five points. A win tonight over the Rangers will make this a successful business trip for the union blue.
