Well, that was worse than expected. For the unaware, the Columbus Blue Jackets fell to the Pittsburgh Penguins in embarrassing fashion Friday evening. The score was not only bad, but the players’ actions were worse.

There’s not much to say about Friday’s game. It was bad and something I hope I never have to live through again. The play on the ice was embarrassing and so were the actions of Matt Calvert.

Just to state the obvious, Union and Blue does not condone or in any way excuse Calvert. What he did was despicable and can and should not be thought of in a light manner. No matter how much we may like him for his determination and grit, cracking someone over the head with a stick will never not be a dirty and cheap move. Watch it if you need to see it again, or even for the first time.
