The month of August is by far the worst thirty-one days on the calendar for hockey fans. With the draft two months behind us and all the major free agent deals done, there is essentially nothing going on in the NHL this time of year. This leaves us with plenty of time to reflect on how our teams played last season, and predict what lies ahead in 2015-2016.

Unfortunately for the Columbus Blue Jackets, last season did not play out the way many people imagined. All signs pointed to them being a playoff worthy team in the East, but the injury bug had other plans for the men in blue and white. Columbus was just not bitten by the injury bug last season; it was eaten whole by it; causing the Jackets to finish fifth in the Metropolitan Division and miss the postseason.
After an active offseason, with the acquisition of future star Brandon Saad, expectations are once again high in the city of Columbus. On paper, the Blue Jackets have enough talent to make a deep run in the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Will expectations be met this time around? At this point, one can only speculate.
Without any further delay, I present to you my four bold predictions for the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2015-2016!
