Which Foligno Brother Was Better?

Thursday night, the Columbus Blue Jackets squared off against the Buffalo Sabres.  This brings up the matchup of brother versus brother. Of course we have Nick Foligno for the Jackets and Marcus Foligno for the Sabres.  Now lets take a look at who got the best of their brother.

Marcus Foligno, well… he didn’t really have a great game.  He racked up some penalty minutes on an interference call, and to make matters worse he got tagged with an unsportsmanlike conduct call. Now, luckily for him and the Buffalo Sabres, Columbus were unable to convert on the four minutes of power play.  Marcus did a very good job of getting under the Jackets’ skin though. Taking down Jared Boll in the 2nd period led to his four minutes of penalties. Other than being an agitator he didn’t do very much to help the Sabres.

Now for the Foligno that matters the most… Nick Foligno. As usual, Nick did a great job creating some very good chances for himself and his line mates.  Foligno scored what would be the game winner for the Jackets.  Nick was one of the best players on the ice for both teams.

With all of this being said, there is no doubt that Nick Foligno was the best of the Foligno brothers tonight. However I expect both brothers to be ready the next time these two teams faceoff against each other on Saturday, January 18th.  Until then, Nick will have all of the bragging rights.
