In this new series I am going to be taking a look back at some of the poll questions I asked you to vote on. I think it is only right to share some of the results from our more popular polls. For the second time, I give you…The General Consensus Was!
Before you know it training camp/preseason will be over and the regular season will be well under way. In just over a week the Columbus Blue Jackets will open up the regular season at Nationwide Arena against the Calgary Flames. Since the regular season is so close, it is a good time to take a look back at some of the more popular polls that have dealt with training camp/preseason.
Is Eight Preseason Games Too Many For The NHL Schedule?

This post was featured on Puck Daddy Headlines and had one of U&B’s largest vote totals. The training camp/preseason time for the NHL is almost a month long and consists of eight games, which in my eyes is too many.
One of my main ideas in this article is that if training camp/preseason started and ended earlier, the regular season could start earlier, and the Stanley Cup Final could be played in late Spring instead of late Summer.
Here is the general consensus from all of you…
Do You Think Eight Preseason Games Is Too Many?
- 69% of the voters agreed that the preseason has too many games
- 31% of the voters thought that eight games is not too many

This is one of the many posts that takes a look at Ryan Murray and Boone Jenner. Both have been playing well during the preseason and have given the Blue Jackets organization something to think about. Even if these two start in the AHL I think they will both see time in the NHL. The questions remains though, who will play more NHL games this season between the two.
Here is the general consensus from all of you…
Who Is Going To Play More NHL Games This Season?
- Boone Jenner received 73% of the vote. This comes as somewhat of a surprise to me, I thought it would be closer than this.
- Oddly enough, Ryan Murray received 27% (His jersey number) of the vote.

Jared Boll Signs Contract Extension: Like Or Dislike?

Just after the start of training camp Jared Boll received a contract extension. The Blue Jackets will have his services until the end of the 2016-2017 season. Aaron Portzline, of The Columbus Dispatch, pointed out that Boll is one of the most tenured player on the Blue Jackets, since the drastic changes to the roster.
I personally think it is great to see a guy like Boll get an extension like this, I think he deserves every penny of his new contract.
Here is the general consensus from all of you…
What Do You Think Of The Jared Boll Contract Extension?
- 84% of voters like the contract extension
- 16% of voters dislike the contract extension

I was surprised that 16% of you, the fans, did not like the contract extension. I want to know why…
There you have it, the second edition of….. The General Consensus Was! – the Training Camp/Preseason Edition. If you don’t agree with the general consensus of the votes mentioned, bring it up to us, maybe we can do a re-vote to see what you, the fans, think of it now!
