Radek Faksa, Valeri Nichushkin, and Jack Campbell led the way for the Stars prospects. Four goals were scored in the first, one in the second, and the final two in the third for the Stars. The Blue Jackets ended the tournament with a record of two wins and two losses. With the loss on the final night of the tournament the prospects return to Columbus with fourth place. Third place would have been a nice end to the tournament, but fourth is certainly better than last. Some prospects will return to Columbus for training camp, which starts tomorrow, the 11th of September. The rest of the prospects who were not invited to camp will return to their junior clubs for their upcoming season.
As mentioned, training camp will begin tomorrow with the players being put through physical testing. Following the physical testing is three days on the ice before the first pre-season game against the Pittsburgh Penguins at Nationwide Arena on Sunday the 15th. The day before, the Blue Jackets will scrimmage on the ice at Nationwide Arena, which will be played at 11:00 am. As I am sure you know by now, the practices at the OhioHealth Ice Haus are open to the public, as well as the scrimmaged being held at NWA on Saturday. You can download the roster for training camp at BlueJackets.NHL.com.
