3. Third Jersey (2010-Present)

For the first time in several years, the Blue Jackets decided to work outside of their usual Union Blue, Red, White, Silver color scheme and introduced Vintage White and Steel Blue into the mix. The new third jersey is heavy on Civil War imagery and honors both the team (“We Fight, We March” is inscribed inside the collar) and their traditions (the cannon crest honors the CBJ’s goal cannon). The jersey is a hit with fans and is very unique when compared to other CBJ jerseys. However, it was introduced when several teams released vintage-inspired jerseys, as well as blue / light blue color schemes. While I would argue that if any team has the right to use a blue color scheme it is the Blue Jackets, there has been many occasions where my third jersey has been mistaken for a Penguins third. Including the overused trends of Vintage White, double blue, and a roundel logo keeps the new Third from climbing to the top.
