It is that time of the year again, when trade rumors are running rampant and surround teams on numerous blogs and Twitter feeds. I remember, before I was obsessed with Twitter, having to hunt down trade rumors during the offseason. Now we can all be instantly plugged in to what is going on during the offseason. Obviously you always have to remember that more than half, probably even more than three-quarters of these rumors are nothing but hogwash.

Trade rumors have began to calm down for the time being, most teams have put their efforts into their development camps and or are re-evaluating their team after the draft and free agency. This is not to say that there still aren’t rumors out there floating around social media. Some teams are still looking to improve their line-ups or even bolster their prospect pool.

So what are the rumors circling the Blue Jackets you might ask. Well, unfortunately or maybe fortunately, I have seen none at the time. So I will not be filling your brains with nonsense rumors. I will give my input on this though, if you would like to know. For some reason I feel that it is unfortunate that there are no rumors swarming the team right now. I am feeling uneasy about the roster that we have currently and I can’t exactly put my finger on why.

It may be the lack of a true veteran leader, like Vinny Prospal. Which by the way Matt Sexton wrote an awesome article on Prospal and his situation with the Blue Jackets.

Or, it could be that with a new GM usually comes lots of changes. I suppose drastic changes had somewhat already occurred last season, with the trading of Rick Nash and the later acquisition of Marian Gaborik. We also reeled in the big fish during free agent frenzy. Nathan Horton has definitely added strength to the roster, but is he enough?

I guess I am just left wanting more to transpire with the roster to feel like CBJ has a legitimate shot at making a deep playoff run. As mentioned before, I don’t exactly know what is missing.

Comment and let me know what you think, does CBJ have enough? Or are they missing a valuable piece to the puzzle?
