Columbus 5 – St Louis 2…… unbelievable? – 3 game win streak …..unexpected….? All true.
Does the phrase, “What hath God wrought” come to mind?
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
“What hath God wrought” is a phrase from the Book of Numbers (Numbers 23:23) – and may refer to: “What hath God wrought”, a message in American Morse code sent by Samuel F. B. Morse to officially open the Baltimore-Washington telegraph line on May 24, 1844 The phrase is certainly appropriate when it comes to the current Jacket 3 game win streak.
The Hitch hockey defensive demons, leaders of the Central division looked a little confused and more than a little frustrated. The Picture is an indication of their frustration, as we see the group in the penalty box. In fact at this point, the Jackets had a 5 on 3 and another Blue was waiting his turn in the penalty box . Although the SL fans did not agree, the Bullies on the river were called for many penalties particularly in the 3rd period. In fact they should have been called for many more. I mean when 3 & 4 players are actually hitting on Derrick Dorsett and only 1 gets a penalty… come on. Even Hitch agreed that SL did not play well. But as the game progressed and the Jackets refused to break, River Bullies who are used to having their way became VERY frustrated.
Actually the game was well played all things considered from the Jacket standpoint. The BJ defensive core of ….. of…..of …….. well I guess it’s a rag tag group composed of: 1 star, J Johnson, a budding star, N Nikitin, a questionable ex NHLer who couldn’t land a NHL contract, B Lebda, a Professional almost NHLer in A Johnson and 2 defense men who prior to the game had a total of 1 NHL game experience between them played credible defense, not perfect, but credible.
The forwards/centers have developed more responsibility and their forchecking and denying access to the Jackets zone particularly on the PK. R Russel and A Johnson have shined in blocking shots. Obviously all the preceding have provided a HUGE assist to The newbe goaltender A York. Although York was quoted as saying the Blue’s game was his toughest, but I will never forget his obvious relief following the Red Wings game. With 3 more games to play, decisions will soon be made. some will be tough!!!!
