This is really good stuff. The Guardian Project, or Stan Lee’s Hockey as Super-Heroes characters were introduced during intermission of the NHL All-Star game. http://www.guardianproject30.com/bios.php
Back in October, the former CBJ writer for FanSided wrote a post about The Guardian Project. He didn’t like it. I wonder if he has changed his mind after actually seeing the final product…I would like to invite Aric to reconsider. Here’s what he had to say: http://firethatcannon.com/2010/10/07/stan-lee-will-kill-hockey/
The 30 characters taken from the NHL teams have all the nuances and individual “powers” and abilities specific to the the town and mascot represented. Attention to detail and careful consideration was given to the Guardians. Even the teams I don’t like are interesting. I can’t stand St. Louis, but there’s no denying “Blue” is pretty damn cool. One of the best looking Guardians is “Panther” and a close second is “Capital.”
I’m really happy with “Blue Jacket” our Guardian. Our family is split down the middle like a group of crazy politicians drawing lines in the sand…we have hockey fanatics and hockey haters. But we all love this Guardian Project.
