Tonight the Blue Jackets face off against the Canadiens. Yet again we come to a game that has now become the most important of the season. Seems to be every game is now the most important. This will be the third round against the Canadiens, with the Jackets losing the previous two. The Canadiens come into the game with a record of 38-25-7 good for 3rd in the Atlantic Division Columbus is coming in with a 35-27-6 record including a record of 6-3-1 in the last 10 games.
With a win the Jackets would take over the 3rd spot in the metro bumping the Rangers into the Wild Card spot. Now with the Capitals tied with Columbus in points tonight is a must win!
Cam Atkinson is back in the line up, in place of R.J Umberger which is likely just to give Umby a
little rest for this very demanding and crucial stretch. Sergei Bobrovsky will be the starting goalie for Columbus and Carey Price will likely go for the Canadiens. Once again the big matchup here is going to be the goaltending. With two great goalies going I wouldn’t expect a high scoring game.
Players To Watch
Cam Atkinson: for obvious reason Cam needs to step it up. Having been scratched for the last few games I expect to see cam play extremely well.
Jackets Defense: Lets face it Bob wasn’t the greatest against the Canes, but the Defensive core didn’t do too well. They left him out quite a few times.
P.K Subban: The piston to a lot of the Canadiens scoring, Subban leads the team with 48 points (10 goals and 38 assists). If you give him too much time and space on the blue line he is lethal.
Max Pacioretty: With 30 goals it is pretty clear why he is a player to watch. Adding 17 assists Pacioretty is 2nd in points and again if he is left alone for too long he can hurt you.
Prediction: 3-1 Jackets win Cam, Johansen and Arty with the goals!
