It is definitely not a secret how important this last stretch of the schedule is to the Columbus Blue Jackets and their playoff hopes. It appears that the team got the memo. From the first drop of the puck and throughout the entire first period, the Jackets were all over the stars.
Near the end of the first, it was time for that red-hot power play to take over, and they did just that. Artem Anisimov scored on the man advantage, taking us into the first intermission with a score of 3-0.
The 2nd period showed us the polar opposite of the first. The Jackets were not able to get into the Stars offensive zone, registering only one shot on goal in the period. Although Dallas had 12 shots in the second, Sergei Bobrovsky stood strong, and turned away every shot.
After a slow 2nd for the Jackets, the Stars came out ready to play in the third. Pretty early in the 3rd Alex Goligoski and Trevor Daley both scored, making it a 3-2 game. However it was Anisimov once again that scored with 4 minutes left in the game to seal the win. The Jackets are now in 3rd in the Metro Division!
My 3 Stars
1. Artem Anisimov
2. Sergei Bobrovsky
3. Boone Jenner
It must be pretty clear who the stars were, as my choices match the NHL star selections.
