Blue Jackets 0 1 1 2

After 8 straight victories the Jackets performance has dropped drastically, currently in a 3 game skid. Tonight was another game with plenty of scoring chances that just wouldn’t go in. Also the officiating left something to be desired, however when you play sloppy you cannot expect great results.

The Columbus powerplay was up and down tonight, Converting on 2 of 5. A lot of the time Columbus seemed to struggle while

entering the zone on the man advantage. When the powerplays clicked it felt inevitable a goal would be coming up. With Matt Calvert passing the puck back between his legs to Cam Atkinson it was by far the play of the game for the Jackets.

Even though the Jackets didn’t seem to be on the same page as a team, they were still very much in the game until a goal 15 minutes into the 3rd period. After a rebound and a pile up in front of the goal Jason Spezza put home what would be the eventual game winner.

Three Stars of The Game

3rd Star: Craig Anderson, Who saved 34 of 36 shots. Only allowing two goals both of which were on Columbus powerplays. Anderson was a huge reason the Senators held on to the victory.

2nd Star: Cam Atkinson, Cam had a goal and an assist.  Atkinson was one of the bright spots for the Jackets in the tough loss.

1st Star: Stephane Da Costa, Costa had 2 goals on 3 Da Costa’s goal half way through the first period gave the Senators the energy to control the play for most of the game.
