Round two in the battle of the brothers again took place in Buffalo at the First Niagara Center. The game was a back and forth affair and a shootout was needed to find a winner. In the end it was the Blue Jackets and Nick Foligno earning the victory for the second time against the Sabres this season – two out of three rounds have been won by CBJ and Nick now.

Nick had a slow to start to the game, but as time went on it seemed as if he was making more noise in the offensive zone and did have a couple chances on net. Marcus being the bigger of the two brothers was the more physical one with 8 hits in total – that is to be expected though as that is a big part of Marcus’ role on the Sabres.

The two brothers had a slight altercation in front of the net after a scrum, Marcus ended up pushing away Nick while clearing the net after the whistle blew, but nothing major came of it. In the end neither brother made a contribution on the score-sheet, but Nick earns the advantage because he was on the winning side.

Round three will take place next Saturday, January 25th, as the Sabres will travel to Columbus to play at Nationwide Arena. Nick will finally get a chance to host Marcus this season, and the two will play there final game against each  other during the 2013-14 campaign. Marcus would have to have quite a spectacular game to win the third round and to find himself victorious in the battle of the brothers, but in this league anything is possible, besides, he is a Foligno.
