The Columbus Blue Jackets traveled to Manitoba to take on the Winnipeg Jets in the second game of a back to back last night.  Curtis McElhinney started in net and the Jackets won 6-3.  Unfortunately, the head coach of the Jets, Claude Noel, was fired this morning after that beating.  Anyway, let’s take a look at the three stars from last night!

Third Star: James Wisniewski

He went into the boards a little weird and injured himself, but got up, skated to the bench under his own power, and returned to the game.  Could you do that?  He also ended up with two assists on the night.  The is not the same Wiz we saw at the beginning of the season, which makes it much easier to watch him take his signature slap shot from the point.

Second Star: Boone Jenner

It was a 2 goal night for our favorite rookie forward last night!  He was awarded a penalty shot when Adam Pardy held him while he was trying to breakaway and score a goal.  Of course Boone got the puck past Ondrej Pavelec, he’s Boone.  And then he scored a nice wrister assisted by one Nathan Horton.  We love Boone!

First Star: Mark Letestu

Letestu had one heck of a game!  First, he scored a short handed goal in the second period and started the onslaught of CBJ goals.  And then, he put the icing on the cake in the third period by scoring the sixth and final CBJ goal.  He hasn’t been the most productive this season, but he sure was last night.
