Columbus Blue Jackets: Brandon Dubinsky Injured

The Columbus Blue Jackets lost in an embarrassingly disastrous fashion last night to the Edmonton Oilers.  The icing on the charlie foxtrot cake?

Dubinsky has been one of the strongholds of the season with 5 goals and 10 assists.  This top line center has 40 penalty minutes and can bring an energy to the game like no other.  Unfortunately, he will not play in the game tonight against the Calgary Flames.  It has yet to be announced whether this is a long term injury or just a small one.

Players such as Ryan Johansen, RJ Umberger, and Artem Anisimov now have to step up and create the type of plays that Dubinsky does. Anisimov has struggled this season, maybe this is his chance to get his game back.  Johansen has become quite the productive player recently, hopefully this type of play continues during Dubinsky’s absence.  RJ Umberger had a bad start to the season but has come back in recent games.  Mark Letestu has gone unnoticed as of late.  Will he finally emerge? Who else is there?

With Marian Gaborik and Brandon Dubinsky out of the line up, what is going to happen?  Will the Flames beat the Blue Jackets like the Oilers did last night?  Will the Blue Jackets respond to this adversity with resilience? What do you think, Union and Bluers? Tell me in the comments below!
