The Blue Jackets are not the only hockey team in Ohio and in the Ohio Hockey News Roundup we will provide a quick overview of the latest news in Ohio hockey. The primary focus will be the Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL, the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL, and the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL, as well as any interesting news at the NCAA level.

Ohio State

Ohio State has put their rough start behind them and have now won six out of their last seven games. They swept Niagara in their 2 game series last Friday and Saturday, with a commanding 4-1 win on Friday, and followed that up with a dominating 6-1 win on Saturday. The majority of Saturday’s game was played with their backup goaltender (Logan Davis) in net, as starter Matt Tomkins was injured a little over 3 minutes into the game. Tomkins is currently considered Day to Day.  Ohio State plays another two game series, with games against Canisius tonight and Saturday at 7pm.
