Breaking news: Marian Gaborik will be out 4-6 weeks due to a strained knee, according to bluejackets.com
Marian Gaborik is slated to miss 4-6 weeks with a sprained knee suffered late in Thursday’s game at TD Garden, Richards said. Even though he was slumping offensively, Richards said Gaborik still posed a threat and now the Jackets need someone to step up and fill that role.
Gaborik was acquired at the trade deadline during last season in the hopes that he would help the Columbus Blue Jackets make the playoffs. During the current season, he has played 17 games, scored 5 goals, and has 6 assists for 11 points. He has taken 42 shots and has a shooting percentage of 11.2%. He has 6 penalty minutes and is a +1 for the season.
He hasn’t scored many goals this season and some people are already calling for him to be traded. Take a look at this post by Tyler West, a Union and Blue Staff Writer.
He’s not standing out as an all-star. I don’t care about advanced stats. At the end of the day, is he scoring goals? No.
