Columbus Blue Jackets Vs Ottawa Senators: Three Stars

Union and Blue Three Stars Of The Game – CBJ vs OTT

The Columbus Blue Jackets were looking to snap a three game losing streak, but unfortunately that did not happen tonight as the Ottawa Senators won 4-1.

Third Star – Jared Boll

Boll celebrated his 400th NHL career game tonight.  During this game, he fought twice: once against Matt Kassian and once against Chris Neil.  While these fights did not lead to any goals, they were still something exciting for the fans during a rather dull game.

Second Star – RJ Umberger

Umby scored the Jackets only goal during this game.  He has not had a stellar season thus far, and this might be the inspiration he needs to jump start his play.  He played on the second line with Cam Atkinson and Ryan Johansen for much of the game.  Jackets were on the power play and with assists from Fedor Tyutin and Brandon Dubinsky, RJ scored on a wrist shot from the knees.

First Star – Eric Karlsson

He was everywhere on the ice tonight.  He scored two goals: one in the first period and one in the third period (empty net).  He had 7 shots which was the most of anyone on either team.  He was awarded the second star at the game, but here at U&B we are giving him the first star.  The most interesting part of this? Karlsson is a defenceman.
