The Springfield Falcons, the AHL affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets, began their season on October 5th, and have played eight games since opening their season. The Falcons started on a strong note and won their first five games, consisting of two wins at home, and three wins on the road.

Since their 5-0 start though, they have a shootout loss, and two losses in regulation – one of which came last night against the Adirondack Phantoms. That leaves the Falcons with a record of 5-2-0-1, and with three straight losses. They currently rank 2nd in the Northeast division, trailing the Hartford Wolfpack by 4 points in the standings, and sit 6th overall in the Eastern conference.
