The Toronto Maple Leaf’s David Clarkson goes to the penalty box for hooking, resulting in a Columbus Blue Jackets power play. 39 seconds into the power play, Wisniewski shot from the point, hit RJ Umberger who left the puck for Ryan Murray to put it in the net for his first NHL goal!

After some playing time, Artem Anisimov didn’t hear the offsides whistle and shot the puck. Nazem Kadri did not like this and went after Arty. Nick Foligno defended Arty, which resulted in 2 minute penalties for both Foligno and Kadri. They skated 4-4 for 2 minutes. Morgan Rielly was called for holding on Boone Jenner and the Jackets went back on the power play. While the power play was fruitless, the pace of this first period was furious. At the end of the first period, the Jackets lead 1-0 and shots were 16-5 Jackets.

Early in the second period, Phil Kessel scores for the Maple Leafs on a deflection off David Savard. The intensity from the first period was missing, but the Blue Jackets went to the power play after Arty was tripped by Dave Bolland. Boone Jenner gave Cam Atkinson a beautiful pass but Cam couldn’t capitalize. Boone was called for holding and the Blue Jackets killed the penalty.

Rielly tripped Foligno and Clarkson hit Foligno after the whistle but somehow got away with it. (Clarkson doesn’t seem to have learned his lesson) At 9 seconds left in the period, Kadri was called for hooking on Blake Comeau. Overall the second period was boring.

Third period. A quick pass from Foligno and Marian Gaborik scores! 2-1 Jackets. Blake Comeau blocked a shot that was sure to go in. Kadri and Dalton Prout were both sent to the penalty box. Skated 4-4 for a minute until Fedor Tyutin is called for tripping. The Maple Leafs were skating 4-3 until Brandon Dubinsky scored the Blue Jackets first 3-4 goal since 2006.

The Leafs bring it back to a 1 goal game with a gaol from Bolland. The Leafs pulled their goalie, which was a bad idea because Ryan Johansen scored an empty netter with 26 seconds to go. The Leafs put Jonathan Bernier back in the net, but Nick Foligno scored with 6 seconds left! Jackets win 5-2!
