Erixon came over to the Blue Jackets as part of the Nash trade with the Rangers. He has only played in 49 NHL games, and has zero goals, and 7 assists. Last year, during the shortened season, Erixon played 31 games with the Blue Jackets, plus 40 more for the Springfield Falcons.
At the beginning of this current season Erixon had made the opening night roster, unfortunately he never was able to play in a game, and was therefore sent down to the Falcons. As mentioned, he is only 22 years old, and still needs some time to develop, even though he played well last year when up with Columbus. Proving himself once again down in the minors will help his chances of being resigned, either with the Blue Jackets or with another team.
Best Performances:
- 2011-2012: 3 goals, 30 assists for 33 points (52 GP – Connecticut Whale)
- 2012-2013: 5 goals, 24 assists for 29 points (40 GP – Springfield Falcons)
