Union and Blue Three Stars Of The Game – CBJ vs BUF
Third Star – Sergei Bobrovsky
Bobrovsky played a great game against the Buffalo Sabres. The lone goal that was scored on Columbus tonight was not his fault, yeah, maybe he could of saved it, but Vankek was left alone right in front of the net. He made some great saves, and there weren’t many rebounds just left sitting around the crease. Bobrvosky made 26 saves tonight and had a great showing.
The first line tonight played spectacular against Buffalo, therefore Atkinson and Dubsinky share the second star. Atkinson scored the first goal of the night after Gaborik took a nice shot on net. I would say that his assists was an even better play than when he scored though. He was in on a two on one with Gaborik and he held it, and held it, and held it and then passed it over to Gaborik at the perfect moment, and he made no mistake. So far, Atkinson has 3 points this season.
Dubinsky also played well, he was everywhere on the ice, like usual. As mentioned, he, Gaborik, and Atkinson played amazing tonight. They were moving the puck around beautifully in the first period. Dubinsky scored his first goal of the season, which was well deserved. Dubinsky also has 3 points so far this season.
First Star – Marian Gaborik
Gaborik had one goal and two assists against the Sabres. The first line is really starting to click, and it showed tonight. All three players were involved and all three made it to the score-sheet. Gaborik could of had a second goal in this game but he unfortunately shot it right into Miller’s glove-hand. He was brought to Columbus to score goals, and he is doing much more for this team, not only scoring, but also making smart plays and creating chances for other players as well. Gaborik now has 2 goals and 3 assists on the season.
