During the preseason Coach Todd Richards found one line that was really clicking out on the ice. Jenner at LW, Dubinsky at Center, and Gaborik at RW. These three form a dynamic trio, each has there specialty, and those specialties gelled into one solid line. Grit, forechecking, playmaking, and scoring, what more could you ask for in one line?
Coach Richards plans on starting these three together right from the beginning of the season, do you blame him? No way, one can only hope that they continue to thrive and remain hot during the regular season. If firing on all cylinders, this line could become quite dangerous.
Let’s consider the possibilities…
If Marian Gaborik can find his scoring touch in Union Blue, he could potential score between 30 and 40 goals in a season, maybe even more. He has the ability, the scoring touch if you will. Every CBJ fan is just waiting with anticipation to see him light the lamp night after night.
What about Brandon Dubinsky? He should be a solid 20+ goal scorer for the Blue Jackets. He is more known to be the playmaker, but he can still put the puck in the back of the net.I think we can count on Dubinsky to score between 15 and 25 goals this season.
Now, Boone Jenner, the wildcard of the group. We all know he tore it up in juniors, the question is, can he translate that scoring ability into the NHL? He is not afraid to get to the dirty areas, including the front of the net, I can see him burying a lot of rebounds from Gaborik’s shots. I think a healthy production of goals from Jenner would be between 10 and 20.
Now to the math, if you take my predictions, the low end of the spectrum would be 55 goals between the three. The high end of my predictions would be 85 goals from the trio. I want to know your thoughts though…
