As we end the offseason and begin the NHL Hockey Season, let’s take a look at the Columbus Blue Jackets Rookies we will be seeing all season.

Boone Jenner

Boone Jenner was born in London, Ontario and will be playing his rookie season this year for the Columbus Blue Jackets.  He played for the Oshawa Generals (OHL) from 2009 to 2013.  During the 2012-13 season, in 56 games, Boone had 82 points and a +/- of +23.

He was drafted 37th overall in the 2011 NHL entry draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets.  At the end of the Oshawa Generals 2011-12 and 2012-13 season, Boone played for the Springfield Falcons (AHL).  Last season, he scored 3 goals in 5 games for the Falcons.

He took part in development camp, the Traverse City Tournament, and training camp this summer, and has survived the final cuts to the Blue Jackets Roster.  It looks as though Boone will be playing on the top line with Marian Gaborik and Brandon Dubinsky.  He has proven himself to be a hard worker and a flexible player.  He was drafted as a center, but has taken to playing on the left wing.
